Did your faves snag a nomination?

The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) will take place on September 12, 2023, and the nominees were recently announced! While the VMAs have had the Best K-Pop category in recent years, K-Pop stars have earned nominations in other categories, including Best Push Performance.

1. Best K-Pop

Since its introduction, the Best K-Pop award has honored some of the best releases this year, and the tradition continues this year!

Aespa‘s earn a nomination for their girl-boss anthem, “Girls,” an exciting new accolade for the group.

Next, it’s no surprise that BLACKPINK‘s “Pink Venom” made the nominee list following their stunning performance at the ceremony last year.

One of the year’s most viral tracks belongs to FIFTY FIFTY, who earn their first group nomination with “Cupid.”

SEVENTEEN make the nominee list yet again this year with “Super,” proving their global influence.

Stray Kids solidify their status as one of 4th Gen’s leaders, earning a nomination for “S-Class.”

Finally, TXT‘s “Sugar Rush Ride” rounds out the list, adding to the fourth generation’s strong showing in this award category!

2. PUSH Performance of the Year

TXT have had quite the year, and coming off of their legendary 2023 Lollapalooza Chicago performance, it’s no surprise they’re nominated for this award!

3. Best Choreography

The team behind BLACKPINK’s “Pink Venom” choreography — Kiel Tutin, Sienna Lalous, YGX‘s Lee Jung, and Taryn Cheng — snagged a nomination for their hard work.

4. Best Art Direction

The creativity in “Pink Venom” earns the video a Best Art Direction nomination.

5. Best Editing

The team behind BLACKPINK’s “Pink Venom” earn another nomination, this time for the video’s impeccable editing.

The nominees for Best Group have yet to be announced, and at least one K-Pop group will likely make the list, so stay tuned!
