Fact Check: Was BTS’s RM In A “Harry Potter” Movie?

A video went viral due to a lookalike.

We all know BTS‘s RM is a fan of the Harry Potter franchise

He has actually dressed as the titular character for Halloween. And RM even refers to non-ARMYs as Muggles, a term popularized by the fictional universe of Harry Potter.

But he’s also in one of the films?!

An ARMY posted a now-viral clip from 2005 film Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire. They pointed out that one orchestra member at the Yule Ball looks an awful lot like pre-debut RM.

Do you see the resemblance too?

Pre-debut RM

The video went viral with 358.5K views at the time of writing. ARMYs were shocked by the similarities, so much so that they wondered if RM was keeping a secret from us.

While ARMYs agreed that the young man in Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire looked like RM, it is not him, as many of you probably suspected. It’s believed to be Brett Yang. He was a member of the 2005 Sydney Orchestra.

Australian violinist Brett Yang is also one half of the musical comedy duo TwoSet Violin with Eddy Chen. They are known for classical covers of pop songs on YouTube as well as comedic musical videos. They have a few K-Pop-themed videos too.

They have done a few BTS song covers, including “MIC Drop” and “DNA.” Check them out below.
