A Video Of “Mask Girl” Child Actress Crying In Front Of IU Resurfaces After The K-Drama
Netflix’s new K-Drama Mask Girl is all the rage these days, and a child actress from the show is being recognized for a YouTube video she was in two years ago.
Mask Girl is a K-Drama adapted from a Korean webtoon of the same name about a woman named Kim Mo Mi, an ordinary office worker with a complex about her appearance. Self-conscious about her appearance but wanting to perform on stage, Kim Mo Mi becomes a broadcast streamer named “Mask Girl” every night, dancing while wearing a mask to hide her face.
In Mask Girl, actress Kim Min Seo portrayed Kim Ye Chun, a friend of the lead character’s daughter. Born in 2009, Kim Min Seo displayed impressive acting skills at a young age, captivating the audience’s attention.
However, this wasn’t the first time Kim Min Seo impressed audiences with her acting. She was in various K-Dramas, such as Hospital Playlist (2020), My Wonderful Life (2020), Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha (2021), Café Minamdang (2022), The First Responders (2022), and more.
She also acted in movies such as Maggie (2019), The Swordsman (2020), New Year Blues (2021), and Alienoid (2022).
Kim Min Seo is also remembered as a regular on the YouTube channel odg. One video, in particular, gained attention because of Kim Min Seo’s professionalism and adorableness.
Two years ago, Kim Min Seo was in odg’s video titled, “Kid Tries to Not Recognize Her Favorite K-Pop Star (Feat. IU).” At the time, she was a 6th grader in elementary school and listed singer IU as her favorite celebrity.
Even though IU appeared right before her, Kim Min Seo had to act as if she didn’t recognize her as part of the “pretending not to know” concept.
However, there was a surprise twist as IU was in on the surprise. She told Kim Min Seo that she was supposed to leave immediately if Min Seo didn’t recognize her—although Kim Min Seo was a massive fan of IU, she had to commit to her character and watch IU walk out of the studio.
After Kim Min Seo finally learned about the double prank, IU rejoined her in the studio, and the two exchanged greetings. Kim Min Seo burst into tears.

She could not stop crying as she fangirled over meeting IU, whom she called “perfect in every way.”
She also performed a scene IU did in the K-Drama My Mister, where she speaks sign language to her grandma. Kim Min Seo shared that she learned this scene from watching the clip on YouTube and performed it for her auditions that eventually got her roles.
She immediately went into actress mode, crying instantly for the scene. IU watched silently and praised Kim Min Seo for her incredible acting skills.
The adorable and professional Kim Min Seo shared that this was the “first time [she’s] liked someone so much” that she didn’t know what to do. She also shared that she wanted to buy IU’s recent album, but her mom didn’t give her permission. Thankfully, IU gifted her a signed CD.
Netizens thought Kim Min Seo was adorable and was impressed by her ability to keep a poker face while seeing her favorite celebrity in front of her. Kim Min Seo is also starring in the K-Drama Cold Blooded Intern, which started airing on August 11.
