The Two K-Pop Songs That Made It On Spotify’s Most-Streamed Songs Of Summer 2023 Globally

These songs took the world by storm!

On August 23, Spotify released their most popular “sizzling songs of the summer”, listing out the 20 most-streamed songs globally for the past season.

The list was very diverse, with artists like Eslabon ArmadoBad Bunny, and Taylor Swift taking some of the top spots. There was even a song that came out a decade ago — “I Wanna Be Yours” by Arctic Monkeys — that made it into the top 20 despite its release date being in 2013!

With the growing popularity of K-Pop worldwide, it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that the genre also made an appearance on the list. And not just one, but two K-Pop songs made it into the top 20 of Spotify’s most-streamed songs of the summer!

Jungkook‘s “Seven” (ft. Latto) earned an impressively high spot on the chart, coming in at #3 and currently at over 470 million streams.

The second K-Pop song to make it onto this list is, perhaps unsurprisingly, “Cupid (Twin Ver.)” by FIFTY FIFTY. With about 571 million streams since it was released in February this year, it ranked at #11 on the chart.

Here’s a look at the full list of Spotify’s “Songs of Summer”.

Additionally, the book Beyond the Story: 10-Year Record of BTS by BTS and Myeongseok Kang also made it onto Spotify’s audiobook picks of the summer.

We’re glad to see K-Pop artists making such a big impact on the music industry as a whole, and it will be interesting to see how this continues to develop moving forward!
