Stray Kids’ Bang Chan Seemingly Responds To Concerns That JYP Entertainment Forced Him To End “Chan’s Room”

It seems like Stray Kids‘ Bang Chan has addressed fans’ concerns over Chan’s Room ending.

Since 2019, Bang Chan has held weekly live broadcasts with fans under the name Chan’s Room. During these live streams, the idol would sit and chat with fans for hours, talking about music and any other topic that came to mind.

STAYs found these live streams as a source of comfort and have felt their absence since the last broadcast, which took place on May 14, 2023. Due to the time since the latest broadcast, fans were sure they would be returning very soon but were given some unfortunate news.

On August 28, a fan shared a clip from a fansign where Bang Chan confessed that he wanted to do Chan’s Room but that his company told him not to do so.

I can’t do Chan’s Room anymore. So, ummm, I want to actually, but the company says no.

Fans were outraged to learn of this and shared their feelings on social media about the matter, trending #DIV1DISBAND, #JYPEPROTECTSKZ, and #ProtectBangChan in response.

JYP Entertainment artists are split under the label, and Stray Kids are managed by Division 1, leading fans to target the division directly.

Fans even mobilized protest trucks to show their anger over the ending of Chan’s Room.

After the initial outrage, Bang Chan seemed to address fans’ concerns.

During a series of messages on a fan chatting platform, Bang Chan sent a cute photo of himself wearing a towel on his head resembling a sheep’s head with a similar caption.

Someone may have asked him why he uploaded the photo, to which he responded, “because it’s my decision.”

Why upload now? Because it’s my decision lol

He continues by saying everything is his decision, seeming to indirectly respond to worries that the company forced him to end Chan’s Room.

Many fans had previously expressed that they would understand if Bang Chan wanted to stop Chan’s Room himself. However, after these messages, some fans were still not convinced the star decided to end it alone.
