One Drink Per Person? First Generation Idol Is Flustered At A Cafe’s Request — Netizens Have Mixed Reviews
Hwangbo, a former member of the first-generation K-Pop idol group Chakra, revealed a bizarre incident that happened to her at a cafe.
On August 29, Hwangbo posted a photo on her Instagram story. The photo, taken at a cafe located in Daegu, showed a bowl of bingsu, or shaved ice, topped with fruits.
Along with the photo, Hwangbo expressed her discomfort at the cafe’s request.
I ordered the most expensive red bean bingsu, and they told me to order according to the number of people. This is more expensive than four drinks combined.

Recently, through various online communities and social media, stories emerged of people ordering a single drink and occupying seats for hours, which sparked public outrage.
However, in Hwangbo’s case, despite ordering a more expensive menu item than what would correspond to the number of people, she was perplexed by the cafe’s demand for one item per person.
Netizens had mixed reviews, with some saying that it’s understandable for the cafe to request one order per person, while others thought it was ridiculous.
- “If it’s one order per person, you must abide. It doesn’t matter how much it is.”
- “The cafe owner has no tact.”
- “Some places require you to purchase a drink. Even if you order a sandwich or salad that is more expensive, you have to order a drink.”
- “Why are there more business owners on power trips than customers on power trips?”
- “But bingsus at cafes are so expensive these days. The inflation is crazy.”
- “What do you mean? LOL If you go to a cafe, order a drink lol.”
- “They probably asked her to do that because of the people who come after a meal and share one bingsu among the four of them, using four plates and talking for hours. It’s probably not about the menu but the cafe owner probably taught them to say that because of people like that.”
- “I would never go back to a ridiculous place like that.”
- “They need to tell you that before you order. If they tell you after you order, then you gotta leave a review.”
- “Just because it’s more expensive doesn’t mean that the profit margin is more than four drinks. Lol. But it’s true that that was too much. People who don’t order drinks usually eat and leave quickly.”
- “From a cafe owner’s point of view, one menu per person is standard, but if the bingsu is that expensive, then they could at least suggest it while the customer orders. Or consider the bingsu as two people’s servings.”
- “If it was a part-time worker who doesn’t know better, then educating them is urgent. If it was the cafe owner, then I don’t think he wants to do business.”
- “They’re terrible at business hahaha. They demand one menu per person to someone who ordered the most expensive bingsu. If they’re celebrities, they could have given them a cake free of charge, which would probably lead to free social media marketing.”
- “Wait, f*ck. Bingsu is at least for two or three people. They’re crossing the line, f*ck. They have no middle.”
- “Bingsu has less of a profit than coffee.”
- “LOL They’re requesting one order per person when one bingsu is more expensive than four cups of coffee. They’re making fools of themselves hahahaha.”
- “I just won’t go there.”
- “Isn’t bingsu considered as three to four people, depending on size? Lol.”
