Who Is She? All About The Sole Filipina Contestant On HYBE’s “Dream Academy” Survival Program
HYBE is launching a new audition program alongside Geffen Records. The company behind the success of BTS is now looking for members to complete their global girl group.
Among 120,000 submissions, only 20 were chosen to take part in the show. One of them is none other than Filipina Sophia Laforteza.
Born on January 1, 2003, the 20-year old is known for being a talented singer.
On the “Art Film” trailer of the program, she was one of the few contestants placed in the vocal-heavy scene.
The fact that singing is her forte is not a surprise to those who have known her from before the show’s announcement. Sophia, after all, is the daughter of theater actress Carla Guevara-Laforteza.
Like most Filipinos, she is fluent in not just the native language, Tagalog, but in English as well. She used both languages in her introduction at The Debut: Dream Academy press conference.
