“The Only Person Who Can Beat BTS…” — Interpark Experiences The Highest Traffic Ever During Lim Young Woong’s Concert Ticketing

It was a bloodbath.

Lim Young Woong is one of the nation’s top singers. He’s known as the “only person who can beat BTS in South Korea.” Given BTS’s hugely acclaimed worldwide fame, this is no easy feat. Lim Young Woong beat the odds thanks to his legion of ahjumma fans. He has the highest number of YouTube views from South Korea, more so than BTS. This is as while BTS’s fanbase is more global, Lim Young Woong’s fanbase is centered in his homeland.

He opened ticketing for his six-day concert on September 14, 2023. The ticketing process was said to be even more challenging than that of idol stars’. A reporter from Korean news outlet IZE went undercover to experience the process for themselves. Ticketing started at 8am that day. Just ten minutes before the opening, the website crashed due to too many people accessing the server. The reporter used both their laptop and smartphone to try to access the server. Thankfully, they were 160,000th in line on their laptop, but only 1900th in line on their phone.

They continued to surf social media and online forums to find out how other fans were faring. Other fans already failed at entering the server, as the line was capped at 600,000 people. After a long battle, they finally secured tickets for the October 28 date. The next day, on September 15, 2023, Lim Young Woong’s agency spoke up on the matter. According to them, the server hit 3,700,000 people in traffic, in just a minute of opening the sales. Interpark, the sales agent, said that it was the highest amount of traffic they had ever seen. This means that Lim Young Woong’s ticketing power beat out hundreds of other idol singers who sold tickets through Interpark.

Currently, all of the tickets available for his 6-day concert is sold out.
