EXO’s D.O. Collects Almost Every Album From One K-Pop Boy Group

He’s only bought albums from two artists.

EXO‘s D.O. made a rare variety show appearance when he guested on soloist Lee Mujin‘s musical talk show Leemujin Service on September 26.

On the show, D.O. was able to show off his incredible talent, singing a variety of different songs by fellow artists such as IU, Ed Sheeran, and James Arthur.

Between his performances, he chatted with Lee Mujin about how his musical style has changed, what it was like performing with BTOB‘s Hyunsik in high school, how he joined SM Entertainment, and more.

After performing James Arthur’s “Falling Like The Stars,” Lee Mujin wanted to know if the EXO member usually listened to songs by foreign artists. D.O. admitted he tends to lean toward listening to foreign artists.

Following his answer, Lee Mujin was curious about the first album he bought with his own money, and D.O. had a few answers.

He initially stated he had never bought an album before he remembered that wasn’t true.

One album he bought was Ed Sheeran’s X album, which featured hit songs “Photograph,” “Thinking Out Loud,” “I See Fire,” “Sing,” and more.

Lee Mujin asked if that meant he hadn’t bought an album before his debut, and D.O. again suddenly remembered he had purchased a cassette tape by the legendary first-generation K-Pop boy group g.o.d.

D.O. revealed that he “begged” his parents to buy him the cassette, and since he didn’t spend his own money on it, he hadn’t thought of it when Lee Mujin asked. When asked which album he bought, D.O. admitted that he’d bought “almost all” of them over time.

While the two artists are very different, D.O.’s diverse musical taste is reflected in his unique vocal ability to tackle multiple song styles.
