He can never not be brilliant.

BTS‘s Jungkook has just released his second solo single, “3D (feat. Jack Harlow),” drawing explosive reactions from listeners. In a follow-up interview, the BTS maknae shared his expectations, his bandmates’ response to the song, and some fun behind-the-scene anecdotes from the music video.

ARMYs already loved the early 2000s sound of the track right when the teasers were dropped, but after the full track’s release, they couldn’t leave out the music video from praises either. Jack Harlow appeared in it with Jungkook, and their fun chemistry surfaced well on screen.

But the the two artists didn’t get to meet during the song’s recording due to scheduling conflicts. They actually met on the set of the music video and hit it off quickly while filming together. “I loved his energy. It was really great,” Jungkook recalled. It turns out Jack Harlow got to see Jungkook’s “ace” side pretty soon afterward.

Fans who have known BTS for a considerable amount of time are familiar with Jungkook’s reputation as an all-rounder. Apart from his vocals, dancing skills, and stage command, he is a man of many other talents. From athletics to art to video editing to gaming, every activity that he takes up, he has the tendency to come on top all the time.

On the set of “3D,” Jungkook’s genius side came out again, though in a casual and friendly moment. The singer shared an anecdote from the filming, specifically the scene where he plays chess with Jack Harlow.

Apparently, Jungkook didn’t know how to play chess but learned it right there on set. Harlow and he had a match, and Jungkook ended up winning!

Interestingly, some ARMYs had already predicted this incident when the music video’s teaser showed the two artists playing chess. But even those who didn’t see it coming, learning that he aced the game in one go, wasn’t new in any way.

It was just another episode of Jungkook being casually the most talented person in a room, but this time, Jack Harlow was a witness, too.
