Security Guard Cat? Philippine Mall Gives Stray Cat New Job…Despite His Lack Of Qualifications

Here’s your stress-reliever of the day!

A special cat from the Philippines is going viral!

Meet Conan, a six-month old white and orange kitten who was given the special job of being a security guard of a local mall.

His “employer” is Megaworld Corporate Center in Mandaluyong, Metro Manila, and his station is the entrance of the All Day supermarket located inside the building.

He greets grocery shoppers…

…helps check their bags to make sure nothing untoward is inside…

…and of course, accepts a pet or two.

Oftentimes, he is caught slacking on the job, playing with toys or the Christmas decor instead!

According to Conan’s security guard co-worker, he helps keep his spirits up whenever he’s on duty. Though the cat does not have the same qualifications as a K9 dog, he has the important job of relieving the stress of staff and mall-goers alike.

He’s the one who gives me strength and takes my stress away.

Conan was rescued by a housekeeper who found him crying in the parking lot at only a few weeks old.

He is the successor of the original Worldwide Corporate Center viral cat, Mingming, who sadly passed away last June.

Now at six months, Conan is working full time as “SG Conan” (Security Guard Conan).

Besides Worldwide Corporate Center, other malls in the Philippines also upgraded their local cats from strays to security personnel within their premises, such as the “Security Cats” of Alabang Town Center.
