OP said their nephew, who recently finished their service, said that Jin regularly buys food for everyone in his unit. To be more specific, he buys food for his much younger fellow soldiers from food trucks every weekend using his own money!

My nephew, who was discharged yesterday, told me that when food trucks come on weekends, assistant instructor Kim Seok-jin (Jin) buys delicious food for everyone, about 15 portions.

OP also shared a photo of them attending the completion ceremony to prove their credibility.

They added that Jin’s kind gesture has earned him the nickname “Pretty Jin Who Buys Us Food” from his fellow soldiers. The name is a play on the name of the K-Drama Something In The Rain, which is titled Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food in Korean.

It seems like he eats with his fellow soldiers in the same unit, so he has been nicknamed ‘Pretty Jin Who Buys Us Food.’

According to OP’s nephew, Jin also “gained a bit of weight, so he has been working out harder.”
