Audience Member From BTS Jungkook’s Times Square Performance Sends ARMYs “Tripping”
On November 9, BTS‘s Jungkook surprised ARMYs with a guerilla concert at Times Square in New York City.
The performance was kept a secret from the public all along, and it was only 30 minutes before Jungkook hit the stage that the news was revealed. But even on such short notice, the singer managed to draw a huge crowd. Both ARMYs and locals rushed to the spot to get a glimpse of him.
Jungkook gave a power-packed live performance of some of his new songs, including “Seven,” “3D,” and “Standing Next To You.”

The event drew huge attention from the media and online and was covered by journalists from reputed publications. Photographer Kyle Stevens was one of them. In fact, Stevens has been covering Jungkook’s solo performances in the US quite often, including his Global Citizen Festival appearance in September and his more recent performance at the TODAY Show.
…and here we go army! Here is another photograph I worked on featuring #Jungkook and @Latto from the @GlblCtzn festival. I love how they apprecaited the fans who went through crazy rain to see an epic performance! Who else is ready for 'Golden?' Follow, Repost, and Like. pic.twitter.com/6bDKYZBisE

On November 10, Stevens dropped some exclusive photographs from Jungkook’s Times Square concert, which included a view of the huge crowd that gathered to see him perform. Even from just one angle, it was evident that the audience was at least in the thousands, and the photographer himself estimated it to be at around 10,000.
Thousands for sure (I want to lock in on over 10k which I think is a baseline)

While the diversity of the audience made ARMys feel proud, some couldn’t help focusing on a familiar figure that made them stop in their tracks. A man, who looked exactly like Jungkook, was seen standing almost in the center of the picture.

This unexpected doppelganger had gears shifting in ARMYs’ brains, who started coming up with all kinds of theories to explain this phenomenon.
What if thats 2013 jungkook time travelled to see future jungkook https://t.co/chXzB8w9zZ

wait what if the reason Jungkook is so great at everything is because he’s actually got a twin brother https://t.co/dGUjdVc6xJ pic.twitter.com/4wbILNa0xq

While others pointed out that the man in the picture had a different nose and jawline than Jungkook, the likeliness couldn’t be denied.
