Popular Variety Show Is Accused Of Being Affiliated With The JMS Cult
Claims have been raised regarding a filming location in the popular MBC variety show I Live Alone, suggesting that a cult owns it and that there may be cult members among the production team.
On November 5, the YouTube channel Guje Yeok (directly translated into “Guje Station”) posted a video asserting that there may be JMS (also known as Christian Gospel Mission or Providence) believers among the I Live Alone production team.
The YouTuber stated that a hotel was featured on an episode of the show, but it was a hotel allegedly used often by JMS.
Recently, Daedunsan Hotel came out on I Live Alone, and it was promoted at the level of a paid PPL (product placement). However, this hotel is owned by JMS. While it may not be directly related to JMS on paper, it is actually deeply connected. Most JMS events and festivals are held at this hotel.

He explained that testimonies from former JMS members showed that this hotel was indeed connected with the infamous cult and its leader, Jeong Myeong Seok.
It’s not called JMS-owned because they went thhere a few times. According to testimonies from former JMS members, this is indeed the hotel owned by Jeong Myeong Seok. It is said that Jeong Myeong Seok received a revelation to build a villa in Wanju, Jeollabuk Province, and ended up operating this hotel.

The YouTuber then asserted that there might be JMS believers among the I Live Alone production team.
It seems that a production team member promoted this hotel operated by JMS. I don’t know if it was for free or a paid promotion, but if it was free, it raises suspicions that there may be a JMS believer among the production team. If it was a paid promotion, the production team becomes incompetent for promoting a cult group for money.

He added that he didn’t understand why the show would promote this hotel as a tourist attraction.
He also shared a written protest letter sent to the I Live Alone team from the Methodist Cult Damage Prevention Center. The letter specified that the hotel featured on the November 3, 2023 episode has a deep connection with JMS and that “JMS victims have expressed their pain after watching the broadcast.”
There has been no official response from the I Live Alone team regarding the accuracy of these claims.
Earlier this year, Netflix’s docuseries In the Name of God: A Holy Betrayal created buzz and informed the public about the deep and dark secrets behind JMS and the self-proclaiming “Messiah” Jeong Myeong Seok.
In the docuseries, victims testified their personal experiences and traumas during their time at JMS and exposed the crimes of the leader, Jeong Myeong Seok. He brainwashed his followers to call him “Messiah” and manipulated them so they would not refuse his words and actions—no matter how questionable.
Evidence showed that he sexually assaulted tall and beautiful women, and he created a cycle where these women lured more beautiful women into the church for him to have sex with, acting as enablers.
