How Bang Yedam Truly Feels About His “K-Pop Star 2” Days

He competed on the show when he was only 10 years old.

Bang Yedam was the most recent guest on soloist Lee Mujin‘s popular musical variety program, Leemujin Service.

For his episode, he prepared stripped-down performances of his recent releases, “Miss You” and “Only One,” and covered Tone Stith‘s “Like Mike,” Michael Jackson‘s “Love Never Felt So Good,” and IU‘s “Troll.”

Bang Yedam chose songs that reminded him of the beginning of his career and honored those who influenced him as a musician.

Two people who encouraged him to follow his dreams before his debut were his parents, who were musical artists themselves.

Immersed in music from a young age, Bang Yedam auditioned for the reality competition program K-Pop Star 2 when he was ten years old. The talented singer recalled wanting to cancel the audition due to feeling nervous the day of, but with his parent’s encouragement, he completed his audition and ended the show as a runner-up to AKMU‘s Lee Chanhyuk and Suhyun.

Lee Mujin was curious how Bang Yedam felt about having so many musical moments from his childhood captured on film and admitted he himself thought it had pros and cons.

Bang Yedam confessed that he doesn’t look up or watch any of his older videos and feels “a little embarrassed” about it. He added that when people play the videos around him, he usually asks them to turn it off.

Bang Yedam continued, stating that it felt like he was watching a different person while sharing that he didn’t remember much from that time.

Lee Mujin was surprised that he didn’t have many memories from the earliest days of his career but concluded Bang Yedam’s impact at only ten years old, which helped him blossom into the artist he is today, was truly amazing.
