Beloved Star Reveals Cancer Diagnosis

Singer and actress Jo Jung Min is being applauded for revealing her cancer diagnosis.

On November 28, the singer took part in MBN‘s singing contest Hyun Yuk Ga Wang (Romanized from Hyun Yuk Ga Wang).

On this day, Jo Jung Min sang “Ready, cue” to a standing ovation. Despite the audiences’ reception, however, judges gave her a score of 13, the lowest in the competition.

After receiving her score, the singer revealed that, “There was a chance I could never sing this song again.” Jo Jung Min then revealed that she recently was diagnosed with cancer.

To be honest, I received surgery for thyroid cancer in June. So I thought I would never be able to sing this song, Ready Cue, again. I hid the procedure from everyone, including my mother. But today I was able to sing.

Jo Jung Min then finished by stating that she hoped her song could bring solace to herself and the audience.

I wanted to console not only myself, but everybody listening.

Singer Lee Ji Hye applauded the singer for revealing her story after she had already been judged.

She is such an honest person for revealing her story now (after being judged) and not before.
