41-Year-Old Woman Goes To Extreme Lengths To Hide Her Age From 24-Year-Old Boyfriend
Some people say age is just a number, but one woman in China feared that hers would end her relationship with a younger man.
The woman, whose name has not been made public, is in a relationship with a man 17 years her junior. Although the woman tried to hide her age, her lie was exposed when she and her 24-year-old boyfriend arrived at Beijing Airport to go on vacation in Japan.
An immigration officer spotted something off about the woman’s passport, causing the woman to become visibly nervous. She attempted to take her passport back before the officer could thoroughly inspect it and urged her boyfriend to proceed through the checkpoint without her.
The immigration officer discovered that the woman had two Chinese passports: her real passport and a fake passport with a fake birthdate. She confessed to having paid 6,500 yuan (approximately $916 USD) for the fake to hide her true age. The false passport states that the woman, born in 1982, was born in 1996, making her fake age 27.
In other words, her boyfriend already knew she was older than him — just not how much older. The woman’s fake passport was confiscated, and she was fined 3,000 yuan (approximately $423 USD).
