Kathy Chow debuted through the Miss Hong Kong pageant in 1985 and began her acting career in Hong Kong television dramas the same year. In 1986, she started her film career as the lead in the movie Cadets on the Beat and rose to fame through the 1994 TVB drama The Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre.
She received much love in Korea for various productions, including the drama Ashes of Love (2018).
