“Gyeongseong Creature” Han So Hee’s Instagram Flooded With Hate From Japan
Following Part 1 of Netflix‘s original K-Drama Gyeongseong Creature, female lead Han So Hee has seen a spike of hateful comments on her Instagram…
…and in particular, for a patriotic post she uploaded.
The post, featuring the Korean independence activist An Jung Geun, was celebrating the successful global premiere of the show.
It’s not about the romance in Gyeongseong. Not about the creatures mid-Japanese rule. These stories are from the people of the brilliantly dark times. Those who had to fight head on against the monsters born from the dehumanizing experiments. It’s about the spring of that year, when embracing one another in love was the only way to become stronger.

The post, alongside the overall sentiment toward the Japanese rule of Korea as seen in the show, triggered some Japanese fans following Han So Hee’s Instagram—leading them to leave upset comments.
Some even took to their own social media platforms and accused Han So Hee of being inconsiderate toward her Japanese fans and/or even “anti-Japanese.”
The actress, unshaken, remained firm about her perspective on the matter.
Japanese Fan: I’d like to watch the show. But as a Japanese person, I need courage. TBH, though, this [post] made me a little sad as a fan.
Han So Hee: It’s sad, but true. Thanks for having the courage.
Upon the news of her Instagram being “attacked,” Korean (and non-Korean) fans flushed out the Japanese comments with love and support for the actress.
On the other hand, the first part of Gyeongseong Creature has received its first round of reviews. Read more about what Korean viewers and TV critics said:
