Fans Wonder Why aespa Has Not Been Hired For MC Jobs
Girl group aespa is already in their third year of their career. Having debuted in 2020, fans wonder why the members have not been given the chance to MC for any event or music show throughout their three years.
It is typical of rookies to become MCs for music shows to build recognition. Debut-era rivals ITZY often sent their members to MC on music shows, be it with Yeji as a fixed MC…
…or Yuna as a guest MC.
With company junior RIIZE’s Sohee recently confirmed as the new MC for M!Countdown, aespa’s fans wonder why aespa was never given the opportunity.
Some speculated that it could be due to SM Entertainment pushing a luxurious and mysterious image on the girls.
- I think they are way too far in their career to be music show MCs now. Since they’re at the stage where they’re touring, they probably won’t do so even more. SM kind of debuted them with the luxurious image. Is being an MC really that important?
- To say that they are too far into their career, many male idols continue to MC even with experience.
- I said that they kind of seem to want to grow aespa with the luxurious image. And most girl group members do MCing in their first and second year.
- It doesn’t have anything to do with experience. There are many idols who MC even late into their career.

On the other hand, others commented that aespa was now too far into their careers to be pushed as an MC.
