Who Are They: The Boy Group That Was Made Just For Mothers

A boy group made headlines for their unique concept.

Aloma from LittleMama, a Japanese company focused on providing advice and seminars on raising kids, stood out for being formed solely to give joy to child-rearing moms.

Their name was based on the sentence “I love mama” and their purpose as a group was to serve as mental and emotional support for Japan’s mothers of all ages.

More than 150 males auditioned to be a member of this group, with seven eventually making the final cut. Surprisingly, none of them have kids of their own. Nei Nei, Mahito, Keito, Junya, Nao, Yuki, and Kantaro, however, still do their best to try to connect with the experiences that their fans have.

They do this by incorporating child rearing-related accessories and dances into their performances. One of their viral dances was the “Baby Carrier Dance” which they brought to life with baby dolls in matching gray carriers.

They also made their own pop renditions of children’s games such as the hand-clapping Inai Inai Baa! movement.

Finally, the response from their target audience was positive. Mothers reportedly praised Aloma for their sincere goal, loving how “they want to support [their] efforts in raising kids.”
