BTS Jungkook’s “NSFW” Song “SEVEN” Gets A Kidz Bop Makeover — Netizens React To The New Lyrics
In 2023, BTS‘s Jungkook took the world by storm with his solo debut.
In particular, his song “SEVEN” took over the charts and initially shocked fans by the NSFW nature of the song, which looked at more mature themes and used language that many had never heard in a BTS song.
Considering the “NSFW” nature of the original song, netizens were shocked to see that the latest album by Kidz Bop for 2024 featured a version of “SEVEN” sung by children. Unsurprisingly, there are a lot of changes from the original.
From the very beginning of the song, the lyrics changed to, “Weight of the world on your shoulders, you see my face and ease your mind.”
Of course, with some of the lyrics, there had to be a change, and while it was only a word or two, it made a huge difference to the meaning of the song.
It’s the way we sing the ride, it’s the way we sing the ride. Think I met you in another life, so dance with me another time.
— Kidz Bop
Of course, the pre-chorus is known to be the most “NSFW” with the word “f*cking” having to be changed to “loving” in the radio version, They took it one step further for the children’s version, and while it doesn’t have the same impact, it makes sense.
When you’re around me and you give me life, and that’s why time after time, I’ll be treating you right.
— Kidz Bop
For Latto‘s rap, there were also major changes.
Now we’re in control, dance and shake a soul
Take your phone and put it in the camera roll.
Leave your mood at the door.
Watcha waiting for, come and hit your goals.
We jump in at both feet.
Dancing till the sunrise, we ain’t getting no sleep.
— Kidz Bop versio of Latto’s rap
Seven days a week, we’re dancing in the street. Seven different songs, we can sing them all week.
Jump up and say ah,
Come in, it’s time to swallow your pride.
What you got, I can match your vibes,
Damn, we can dance to the Cha Cha Slide.
You make Mondays feel like weekends,
I make you never think about sleeping.
Got you skipping work and meetings, let’s sing.
— Kidz Bop versio of Latto’s rap
When the song was released, ARMYs couldn’t get over what they heard. While some thought it was hilarious that they were adapting a song about sex for children, others shared that the listing of the days of the week made it a perfect song for teaching.
It’s definitely an interesting song to pick for Kidz Bop, but it shows the global fame of BTS and how much Jungkook’s song made an impact on people across the world.
