Megan Thee Stallion Gives K-Pop Fans An Indirect “Shoutout”

It happened during a live stream.

Over the last week, the biggest topic was the feud between rappers Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion.

The two rappers, once friends, have been engaged in beef that supposedly was first hinted at by a line in Nicki Minaj’s “FTCU.” The line “Stay in your Tory Lanez, b*tch, I’m not Iggy,” was said to be a reference to rapper and convicted criminal Tory Lanez shooting Megan in 2020 and rapper Iggy Azalea writing a letter of support for Lanez during his trial.

Megan Thee Stallion’s “Hiss” reignited the feud with the line, “These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law.” Megan’s Law deals with the accessibility of information about sex offenders.

As Nicki Minaj’s husband and brother are both convicted sex offenders, the star took it as a personal attack, releasing “Big Foot.” In “Big Foot,” Minaj targets Megan, bringing up her alleged sexual history, her deceased mother, and injury following the Lanez shooting.

Many fandoms outside of Megan’s own “Hotties” came to the idol’s defense, including K-Pop fans.

K-Pop Fans Show Overwhelming Support For Megan Thee Stallion Amid Nicki Minaj Beef

The beef inadvertently turned into a competition as everyone waited to see whose track would win on the charts. Minaj’s “Big Foot” ranked 23 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, while Megan secured #1.

Many celebrated Megan’s success, including the star herself. During a livestream, the rapper talked about the support shown to her, directly mentioning those who were not fans.

Many found her comment hilarious, reflecting on how it was an Avengers-like moment and a shoutout to all these other fandoms. Some directly mentioned K-Pop fans as a big part of this collective fandom moment.
