Fans Think IVE’s Rei Is From A Rich Family And Here’s Why
On a recent episode of Follow Rei, IVE’s Rei hosted fellow Japanese K-Pop idol, Kangnam. Kangnam asked Rei where she was born. Rei immediately brought up Nagoya, her hometown.
As soon as Rei mentioned Nagoya, he immediately jumped to the conclusion that Rei was from a rich family.
While she refused to publicize what her father worked as, Kangnam sussed out from her last name that she was probably rich. Rei stated that her last name was Naoi. Naoi is a highly uncommon last name in Japan.
Her last name convinced Kangnam that she was of high birth. In Japan, families with uncommon last names were likely descendants of high birth, as during the Imperial Times, they were granted these names by the Emperor of Japan. This is also the same reason why many TWICE fans believe that Mina is of high or royal descent. Mina’s last name is Myoui, also an uncommon one. Fans confirmed these suspicions.
