Netizens React To Details Of Virtual K-Pop Idol Group PLAVE’s First Concert
Virtual K-Pop group PLAVE have been really doing well since they debuted a year ago in March 2023. Despite the controversy over AI and virtual idols being used in the last couple of years, the music that the group has released has been well-received, and their most recent album, ASTERUM : 134-1, even surpassed a half-million sales in the first week after release.
As they become more popular, PLAVE has started to do things that non-virtual K-Pop idols normally do, such as releasing a lightstick and, recently announced, holding an in-person concert.
The fan concert, Hello, Asterum!, will be held on April 13 and 14 in Seoul at Seoul Olympic Hall.

Tickets for the event are reportedly being sold for 108,000 won (~$80 USD) pre-sale and 121,000 won (~$90 USD) regular sale, which is pretty standard for concert tickets for mid-sized, non-virtual K-Pop groups.

A seating chart for the event has also been recently shared, and includes both a stage and a console, though just exactly how the members will perform — whether they will have holograms or everything will be on a screen — has yet to be revealed.
Reactions to the fan concert by a virtual idol group like PLAVE have been mixed. While some fans are hopeful that there will be holograms and the concert might be similar to something like Hatsune Miku’s live performances, others are skeptical about how it will be pulled off.
