Naked Woman Found Dead Inside Sewer By South Korean Police
South Korean police have concluded their investigation into a disturbing discovery in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, where the body of a woman was found inside a drainage ditch.
The woman, identified only as Ms. A, was discovered on theMarch 6 in a naked state along a road near the Dong Suwon IC in the Yeongtong District. Despite the shocking nature of the discovery, authorities have ruled out any criminal activity involved in her death, categorizing it as a “simple unnatural death.”
The case came to light when Ms. A’s body was found at approximately 2 PM in a sloped drainage ditch. Clothing believed to belong to her was scattered around the area. Utilizing fingerprint identification and extensive CCTV analysis, police were able to trace Ms. A’s movements leading up to her death.
She was last seen wandering the streets alone, without her outerwear, in the early hours of the day following her departure from a motel in the Pal-dal District of Suwon City on February 13. Ms. A, who had been living apart from her family and was known to suffer from an intellectual disability, did not appear to have any interaction with others after her last sighting, and no evidence suggested she was followed or approached by anyone.
Initial autopsy results indicated signs of hypothermia but were inconclusive in determining the exact cause of death. The absence of any injuries that could have led to death further compounded the mystery. Police theorize that Ms. A may have succumbed to hypothermia after spending a prolonged period in the cold without proper clothing.
This condition might have led to “paradoxical undressing,” where individuals inexplicably remove their clothes despite the freezing temperatures, a phenomenon that could explain her state when found.
The investigation into Ms. A’s death has drawn to a close, with the police awaiting final autopsy results from the National Forensic Service to officially determine the cause of death. In the meantime, her body has been returned to her family.
