Why Zico Does Not Want His Boy Group BOYNEXTDOOR To Follow In Block B’s Footsteps

He’s not too proud about this…

Before Zico was a famous soloist who released hit tracks such as “Any Song,” “SPOT!” and “Smoke,” he was a member of popular boy group Block B.

He is now also the founder of his own entertainment company, KOZ Entertainment. In fact, he has a new big role: being the “father” of their rookie boy group BOYNEXTDOOR.

Last year, I took time off from everything and I followed them to a jacket shoot or a music video shoot or a green room. I followed their major schedules.

In an interview with KStarNextDoor4, he talked about how he wants to raise them well.

MC Jonathan brought up a fan post reflecting the fact that Zico does not want BOYNEXTDOOR to follow in his old group’s footsteps. Whenever they members ask about his past fights, he changes the topic.

‘BOYNEXTDOOR was curious about Block B’s fight. But Zico only wants to give them good influence so he tells them not to look it up.’

He explained to Jonathan that Block B had numerous fights stemming from the harsh environment that they grew up in. As a group from a no-name company that started from the bottom, it was almost inevitable. They also had a tough boy concept that masked the arguments well on stage.

As you know Block B began from a tough jungle. We started from the bottom. We had a different vibe.

Zico recognized that the line between acceptable and not-acceptable was a thin one, and he’d rather BOYNEXTDOOR not have to go through this at all. While fights were common with Block B, he does not want this to carry over to his new boy group.

It’s nice to be rough and raw, but I don’t want them to be vicious and wild.
