Idol-Actress Returns With Changed Visuals After Drunk-Driving Scandal
On May 15, former After School member and actress Lizzy surprised her fans with a completely new style of visuals on her Instagram.
The idol-actress posted a video with a thoughtful caption celebrating Teacher’s Day in Korea. The short clip shows her smiling at the camera before switching to a slightly goofier face. But what caught many netizens’ attention was her changed visuals.

In the video, Lizzy exuded a mature and sophisticated beauty, in stark contrast with her cute and charming image from her After School era.
Netizens’ positive reaction to Lizzy on social media is indicative of her chance to make a successful return to entertainment following her 2021 drunk-driving scandal. In May 2021, she was involved in a car accident while under the influence of alcohol. Though her blood alcohol level was reportedly high enough to have her license revoked, there were no casualties. Lizzy stood trial in October of the same year and was fined ₩15.0 million KRW (about $11,100 USD).
Following the incident, Lizzy halted all activities and parted ways with her former agency, Celltrion Entertainment. She recently announced her return by signing with a new agency, BK ENT.
