Aespa's Ningning Had One Regret After Signing Her Contract With SM Entertainment

Aespa‘s Ningning was the latest guest on the YouTube series Lee Mujin Service. She sang a variety of song covers and answered questions that fans were curious about. On the topic of moving to South Korea to become a K-Pop trainee, she was asked if she had any regrets.

There was one thing that she wished she could redo: saying a proper goodbye to her friends.

So there’s one thing I regret. It is that I couldn’t properly say goodbye to my school friends.

Ningning was on a flight to Korea almost right after she responded to the casting agent. Just a day after her plane touched down, she signed the trainee contract with SM Entertainment. Because of this, she no longer returned to her school in China from that day forward.

Because the day before I came to Korea, I was cleaning the school and then, suddenly, I didn’t go to school from the next day.

She thinks back to this day in 2016 even now, saying she “still regret[s]” moving too quickly in the beginning.

I still regret that sometimes. I couldn’t say a proper goodbye to my friends. I wish I could say goodbye to them.

Fortunately, Ningning was given the chance to send a video message to her old friends through Lee Mujin Service. She wished them well and expressed her hope that they have “great days everyday.”
