HYBE Targets X User For Defamation Against BTS, LE SSERAFIM — Asks U.S. Court To Aid Case
It was recently revealed that HYBE has asked a U.S. Court to help unmask an anonymous person in a defamation case.
According to Reuters, a criminal complaint filed by HYBE targeted the anonymous X user @guiltyarchive, accusing the account of defamation and harassment.
The account @guiltyarchive is accused of spreading defamation about HYBE groups like BTS and LE SSERAFIM, including sales manipulation and plagiarism allegations.
The most recent update to this complaint is an application for a court order asking a U.S. court to compel X to reveal the user’s identity. In a statement to Reuters, the account stated that the posts mentioned in the court filing were “not defamatory against certain artists” and have since been deleted.
This is not the first time a company has asked for help unmasking an anonymous account.
In 2023, Starship Entertainment successfully obtained a court order from a California court in the United States instructing Google to hand over information related to controversial YouTuber Sojang.
