Aespa‘s reactions to NewJeans‘ music show win are going viral.

Over the last few weeks, aespa’s name has been mentioned in response to NewJeans, all due to ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin‘s reveal during her first press conference.

During the press conference, Min Hee Jin revealed text messages in which Bang Si Hyuk allegedly asked if she could “crush” aespa with the debut of NewJeans.

Aespa have since responded to this message, going viral in the process.

“We know all about the matter. Since it’s out first full-length album, we gave our all in practicing. We gained strength from the support and love [we received] and worked hard to prepare for it. I think it’ll be a satisfactory start with this first full-length album, so I am thankful for the public, as well as for our SM family and the members who have worked hard.”

On May 31, KBS‘s Music Bank took place, with NewJeans nominated for first place against aespa. Ultimately, NewJeans’ “How Sweet” won first place, earning the group their second win for the song.

Following their win, fans couldn’t help but point out aespa’s reactions to NewJeans’ win.

First when the winner was announced, aespa seem more worried about the loudness of the confetti guns, than anything else. After this, the group can be seen turning towards NewJeans and clapping enthusiastically.

As NewJeans begin their encore, Karina can be seen tapping Danielle‘s back to say hello as Giselle waves to the group.

Fans have loved seeing the groups interact, in spite of the ongoing issues outside of their control.
