28-year-old Singaporean actor Tyler Ten made his television debut in 2019 as Calvin Ong in the series All Around You. Since then, the actor–who doesn’t consider himself a rising star–has been humbly taking on new roles, building his filmography while attracting new fans.
But I haven’t won [Most Popular] Rising Star award [at the Star Awards], so no, I don’t consider myself [a rising star].
But I’m glad that people are giving me opportunities because I work very hard. There are also people who believed in me since the beginning and I want to prove them right for supporting me from the start.

Up to this point, Tyler Ten has often been cast for broody, body-baring roles. In a call with online magazine 8days, he said, laughing, “I’m still taking my shirt off in every show.”

Though he doesn’t mind showing off what he’s got–he’s worked hard for these results, after all–he doesn’t want people to know him just for his abs.
I mean, I’ve got the goods, so why not show it right? Since I train every day, might as well show off my hard work.
I think it’s a good selling point. Not everyone can show their body on screen, but I don’t want that to be my only selling point either. I also want to be recognized as someone who can act.

His latest role is a departure from his usual fare. Tyler Ten will be going from playing a fearless firefighter in In Safe Hands (2021) and a soldier in When Duty Calls 2 (2022) to a sweet, funny office worker in Love On a Shoestring (2024). Check out the trailer:
