Controversy Erupts After EXO Suho And Chanyeol’s Festival Performances Are Cancelled Last Minute
Many have been left outraged after EXO Suho and Chanyeol‘s appearances at a festival were canceled at the last minute.
Earlier this year, the Aria Festival was announced to take place in Greece on June 20th. Of the many artists announced to perform at the festival, many attendees were thrilled by the inclusion of EXO’s Chanyeol and Suho in the line-up.
However, on June 12, just eight days before the festival, it was announced that the EXO members would no longer attend. Aria Festival said in a statement that the pair would not attend due to “circumstances during the preparation process.”
Due to our circumstances during the preparation process from the festival, SUHO and CHANYEOL will unfortunately be unable to attend ARIA FEST 2024. In the light of current situation, we inform you that the performances of the aforementioned artists have been cancelled.

Naturally, many fans were suspicious of the timing of this announcement, with some linking it to the ongoing legal dispute between SM Entertainment and EXO CBX.
you know how if you want to hurt someone you hurt the people they care about?
that’s what sm is doing. fck that company for mistreating their artists . also , to all the akgaes out there, this isnt cbx’s fault. This is 100% SM being 🗑️ https://t.co/X1hPPIu120

crazy S/M will do everything to ruin them even if the members are still under their company and it affects their own the most https://t.co/by9Mitle04

Blame has also been directed at Aria Festival, citing suspicious and exorbitant pricing that left many turned off from attending.
theres a rise of poorly organised companies who know nothing about kpop that are making kpop festivals across europe and then trying to charge extortionate prices for tickets!! atp i think this is just one big money laundering scam. (these are the prices for aria fest in greece) pic.twitter.com/gfcD2aCl2H

Seemingly validating these fears, fans have called out the festival for changing the announcement after it was initially posted. In the original statements made on X and Instagram, the festival mentioned that it would be processing refunds from those who no longer wanted to attend.
Around an hour later, the new statement simply promised to make the line-up worthwhile for those who are disappointed by the cancelation.
Fans have demanded answers and are angry over the last minute changes.
Aria fest removing the refund part really proves that they can't afford suho chanyeol due to the low selling of their extremely overpriced tickets but still want to keep the show going, they're basically scamming exols and using their money to keep the show going

I expect this tbh, at this point just cancel the whole thing and give refunds. This organisation has been a joke since the beginning https://t.co/AJMIumWFwu
