Netizens Debate Whether BABYMONSTER’s Song Given By Charlie Puth Is Inappropriate For The Members
The lyrics to BABYMONSTER‘s song have sparked a debate on whether the lyrics are inappropriate for the young group.
Before the group’s “re-debut,” it was announced that Charlie Puth gave one of the songs called “LIKE THAT” to the members after Ahyeon covered his song.
Recently, the members performed “LIKE THAT” on music shows and with lyrics in English and shown during the performance, they started a debate on how appropriate it was for the members.
In particular, the pre-chorus and chorus gained attention.
‘Cause all those girls (They don’t)
Know what you need (They don’t)
But I know, I know the way, the way
To make, to make sure you never leave— Ahyeon
If I come close baby would you like that
If I give some would you give it right back If I show you that I know where it’s at Baby, would you like that Baby, would you like that— Rami
Say you want love boy I know what that means
Make you feel way better than in your dreams
If I show you that I know where it’s at
Baby, would you like that
Baby, would you like that— Pharita
After the performance, fans looked at the lyrics and were unsure whether they were appropriate for a group with some members who were minors.

What where you expecting a grown man whos whole music career has always been sexual songs wrote it. so obviously he's gonna write what he feels for them.Songwriters normally work on what they feel whether you are a minor or grown. https://t.co/CimWPPJ9tg

Many fans hit back at the criticism, with some claiming that BABYMONSTER was “ridiculed” for their “Disney” lyrics for previous songs just to be criticized for more mature concepts. Others shared that it was down to the interpretation of how appropriate it was deemed by netizens and that it was just a song about relationships.
so like y'all hated 'Dream' saying it has "disney ass lyrics"…'Batter up' bcs it was so YG coded…'SITM' bcs its a ballad…'Sheesh' cause it was too complete to be a kpop song & now we hating a song literally gifted to these girls bcs of their talent and is all abt love? https://t.co/wCC49ykcte

I think there is no problem with the lyrics. The problem is how a person would interpret it. For grown ups, maybe they will interpret the song in the deeper side/matured level but for younger ones, they can interpret this as innocent as possible or its just a young love.
