Second-Generation Idol Is Proud To Say There Are No More Sasaengs In His Fandom
In the world of K-pop, if there’s one thing that is difficult to avoid, it’s sasaengs (obsessive fans who invade Korean celebrities’ privacy). An online community post gained much attention as a second-generation idol revealed that he didn’t have to deal with sasaengs anymore.
Singer Junsu appeared on Jung Jae Hyung’s YouTube series and discussed how his fans worked together to respect his privacy.
“Junsu: My fans don’t even know I went on a trip. Of course, I’m not trying to make it a secret or anything.
Host: So people know what you do for official schedules 365 days a year?
Junsu: No, but my fans respect my privacy. Even if they come to the airport, they say, ‘Let’s not bother Junsu.’
Host: So they have much experience.
Junsu: Yes, that’s too. Also, because we had a hard time with sasaengs back then, the fans understand how we feel. Now they have organized a movement, so it’s become systemized among fans.”
The OP hoped that fans would understand how he feels and continue to protect his privacy.
Look at this, Junsu knows that the fans implicitly respect his privacy. I think that’s why he could trust the fans and go on his travels in peace. So from now on, we shouldn’t invade his privacy so that he can go anywhere in peace and talk about his fans like to anyone who asks.

They respected his privacy so much that even if they met him coincidentally, they would run away from him!
- “When he leaves and enters the airport after touring, fans would run away if they saw him at the airport.”
- “It’s true. Even if they bump into him by coincidence, they act like they know him…such a rare sight to see.”
Netizens were amazed that this could happen and wished other fandoms would act like this too.
- “Wow this is how you really love your artist, a relationship based on respect.”
- “Wow the fans did a great job with this.”
- “So jealous, wish sasaeng’s would stop bothering my bias too.”
- “This is great.”
- “They really need to stop following them to and from schedules. That’s the only way this will disappear.”
- “This is a really good phenomenon.”
- “Wow can’t believe fans can change like this, so nice.”
