Korean media outlet Daily NK reports that they received information from a local source claiming that on June 2, three male and three female students from a high school in Hamhung “entered a bathhouse together and had sexual intercourse.” They were allowed to use the entire bathhouse exclusively for two hours, from 3 PM to 5 PM.

Furthermore, it is reported that the students bribed the bathhouse manager to let them in. Normally, bathhouses do not allow mixed-gender groups, so the students had to bribe the manager with an additional $70 USD on top of the regular entry fee. NK Daily claims that the average cost for using a bathhouse is $1.20 USD per person, which would make the bribe equivalent to 60 customers worth of revenue, “making it hard for the manager to refuse it.

The news was discovered after one of the students engaged in the intercourse bragged about it to his friends, which then spread quickly across the school. Eventually, the “rumor” reached the local police, who raided the bathhouse and inspected the manager’s records. They also detained him for questioning after police noticed that the manager had left the time slots when the students had used the bathhouse blank in the records.

The six students involved in the scandal were also questioned. During the investigation, it was revealed that the group had also inhaled crystal meth and swapped partners while inside the bathhouse.
