RIIZE Members Loses Shoulder Pad Mid-Performance, Sparking A Debate Among Netizens
Body shapes are a hot topic in the world of K-Pop. For example, idols like NCT‘s Jungwoo and EXO‘s Sehun are known for their large shoulders.
This gives them a “dorito” body shape (also known as having wide shoulders and a small waist), something that is universally attractive in a man. It also gives off a fit and manly vibe even in plain shirts.
That’s why when the members of RIIZE emerged in white t-shirts for their latest comeback “Boom Boom Bass,” the members showed off their fit bodies.
Many of the members including Anton gained attention for their perfect body shape!

However, not everything you see is real — One of the members was spotted losing a shoulder pad while dancing.
It’s hard to tell where exactly it came from, but you can’t miss it!
Some of the top comments discussed how female idols are unfairly criticized for wearing padding. Meanwhile, others tried to defend RIIZE from any incoming hate or bodyshaming.
- “ITZY‘s Yuna has been criticized all year for wearing hip pads, but it’s okay for male idols to have shoulder pads?”
- “Honestly, I’m tired of seeing celebrities being deified like this. They’re all just people, their bones are no different from ours. We need to stop putting them on pedestals and treating them like they’re better than us.”
- “It’s hilarious how these fangirls will actively mock female idols for having ‘hip pads’, even going so far as to accuse them of fraud and calling them ‘disgusting’. But when it comes to male idols, they’re suddenly all ‘cute’ and ‘charming’.”
- “Ugh, here we go again. Are people really going to make a fuss about this? If these idols were so concerned about their shoulder width, they wouldn’t be wearing sleeveless shirts all the time. They’re just trying to find something to complain about.”
- “They’re already wearing sleeveless shirts, so it’s obvious they don’t care about their shoulder width. But these people are still trying to make a big deal out of it.”
