Korean Woman Finds Out Husband Has A Child After Two Years Of Marriage
An online community post recently garnered attention about a woman who found out her husband of two years had a child.
“After being married for two years, I found out my husband has a child.
After being married for two years, I found out that my husband had a child in first grade. The birth mother took care of the child, but after hearing about my husband and I getting married, she sent the child to my husband’s parents, saying that she wanted to live her own life.
At first, we thought about having a divorce and that this marriage was a scam and went through some difficult times.
But then, when I visited my in-law’s house, I saw that the child was very cautious and hid in their room when we came over. But after seeing that my in-laws did not call the child down for dinner, I decided to bring the child to our house.
I received much criticism for bringing the child home, but I saw myself in the child, as I also lived separately from my family when I was young.
It’s been seven years since we’ve all lived together.”
“Our family has also grown from three to four, as my son is now 20 months old. My daughter is now in middle school. Up until today, she called me an ajumma (older woman), and until the fourth grade, I asked if she would call me mom, but she didn’t answer. I told her that I would always be here waiting for her.

Because it was vacation, I could work more freely because she spent much time playing with her younger brother. I took up my cooking skills and made steak and spaghetti for her, and she said, ‘I’ll do the dishes, Mom.’
I was so shocked and didn’t want to react too loudly as she might get surprised, so I said thanks to her and quickly ran into my room and called my husband to tell him the news. But my voice was too loud as she heard everything I said. I was just that excited about it.
While I was preparing for my son’s bath, she came over to me and said, ‘Thanks, Mom. From now on, I will really do my best,’ before quickly going back to her room.
I drowned out the sound of me crying as the bath water was running. The hardest thing about raising kids is when they don’t let you into their circle. Now, she has let me in.
At a time when other kids are going through puberty, she has grown up so fast due to her past. It makes my heart hurt, but I am also proud and thankful…
