They were in different countries in a span of just a day.

For K-Pop fans, we all know that we are always booked and busy year-round due to the nonstop flow of comebacks, concerts, and tours. Sometimes, schedules are so tight that you could be in and out of two countries in one weekend!

“A bit of an embarrassing story, but as I returned to Korea, the customs officer had to open my luggage to conduct a customs investigation because my flight history of going to Manila and Taiwan in a short period of time seemed unusual.

But as soon as they opened it, a poster, slogan, light stick, and photo cards were on top, so the officials were a bit confused and asked where I had gone. I told them I went to a concert, and they said, ‘Ah, you’re an EXO fan,’ and let me pass.”

In the photo posted, they could see a huge poster of D.O. for his Asia fan concer tour, BLOOM.

It turns out that there was a Suho concert in the Philippines on Saturday and a D.O. concert in Taiwan on Sunday.

Other fans also experienced similar situations on their return as well.

“X User: I burst out laughing at work while reading this. I was worried after seeing that you would be in so many places in just one day. Your luggage says it all. I guess we get a free pass for being an EXO fan lol. Glad to see you have returned safely. Thanks for sharing your story.

OP: I regretted about 500 times not rolling up the poster and slogan when they asked me to open my suitcase. My K-Pop rights have been opened to the public. Glad you got a laugh out of this.

Another X user: Ah! I also went through something similar yesterday! I think they thought I was trying to sell merch or something…”

Many fans felt that it was actually better to make it known that you are a K-Pop fan as it made it easier to get through customs.

Ive had a similar experience too. I was entering through the airport in Jakarta, and during customs, they asked if I was an EXO fan. I was so shocked and asked how they knew, and they said they could tell by my merch. They told me to have fun at Baekhyun’s concert and let me go. I love seeing stories like this since we can just get a good laugh out of it.

We can get through customs much easier if we just flat out show that we are a K-Pop fan. When I asked what I was doing in Japan at customs, I told them I was there for a concert and they just told me to have a good time and let me through.

It’s better to just get caught about being a fan. During COVID-19, I was entering the U.K., but my passport wouldn’t scan, so they took me over to the customs desk and asked why I was there. I told them I was here for a British actor to see their play, and they just let me right through.

What are your thoughts? Have you had a similar experience?
