“Fake Deep” — BLACKPINK Lisa’s “Teach Me Japanese” Lyrics’ True Meaning Fiercely Debated
On June 27, BLACKPINK‘s Lisa returned with “Rockstar.” This single is the first release under her company, LLOUD, and many netizens have tuned in in anticipation.
Lisa’s release earned mixed reviews, with many appreciating the artistry and visuals in the music video, including her inclusion of three Trans influencers. On the other hand, some felt that the release was not on the same level as her other solo tracks.
Another criticism of the song was its lyrics, which some felt were “not up to par” with the grandiose video.
In particular, one section of the song has been made a point of debate.
During the chorus, Lisa makes a catchy reference to her track “LALISA” from the point of view of someone asking her to teach them Japanese.
