Actor Wi Ha Joon Responds To His Selfie “Controversy”
In a recent interview, actor Wi Ha Joon addressed the “controversy” surrounding his selfies.
On July 5, the actor joined a roundtable interview following the conclusion of his current K-Drama, The Midnight Romance in Hagwon. During the conversation, the topic of Wi Ha Joon’s much-talked-about selfie-taking skills was brought up. The “controversy” in this context refers to the fact that previously fans jokingly criticized the actor’s old selfies on Instagram, saying he had no interest in having them turn out good or that his phone should be confiscated.
In response to these comments, Wi Ha Joon playfully complained that he never realized his selfies were that unfavored by fans.
I was really shocked. A lot of people around me have been telling me that I’m terrible at taking selfies. I saw the reactions online as well. They literally said, ‘Confiscate his phone.’ But honestly, I thought they turned out alright!

The actor added that he has stopped taking selfies since these comments. “I’m still scared,” he answered, adding, “So instead of taking selfies, I ask my friends to click boyfriend pictures of me.” Wi Ha Joon then joked that even though his friends were the ones taking the pictures, his expressions did not match the intended vibes. But his friends have gotten used to his shenanigans now.
I tell my friends, ‘Please take some pictures of me for the fans.’ My friends are used to it now and don’t roast me for it.

Finally, despite his shortcomings in the field, the actor promised, “I will continue to try my best to upload selfies as well.”
