Park Na Rae Unpacks Old Drama Between Her And Her Best Friend’s Ex-Boyfriend
In the latest episode of I Live Alone, comedian Park Na Rae got real with her “Palm Oil” member and TV star Jun Hyun Moo.
On a special trip Park planned, the duo spent invaluable time making new memories. But it was after dinner and a round of drinks when the real talk began.
Park Na Rae admitted that their 8-year friendship went through a rough patch in 2019, when Jun Hyun Moo dated and then broke up with her best friend and model, Han Hye Jin.
Jun Hyun Moo: We weren’t always so close. It wasn’t necessarily us being shy around each other, but… There was a bit of distance, for sure.
Park Na Rae: For sure. We were awkward.
Jun Hyun Moo: Very awkward.
Park Na Rae: Back then, I think I believed that it would not be loyal of me to have any type of relationship with you, oppa.
Jun Hyun Moo: And that’s totally fair.
Park Na Rae: I didn’t even try to put in the effort to get to know you better.
Jun Hyun Moo: I know.
It was after she became a part of the “Palm Oil” group and the foodie trio began bonding that she finally started opening up to Jun Hyun Moo.
To be honest, I kept you at a distance because I felt like it would confuse me a lot if I did get to know you and you turned out to be a great human being. So I basically chose not to befriend you… But when you returned [to I Live Alone after a short hiatus taken for the breakup], I noticed you were a bit different. And, over time, I learned more and more about you, whether I wanted to or not. Once we formed “Palm Oil,” I think I started to rely on you.

Jun Hyun Moo also admitted that, at first, it hurt his feelings. Over time, though, he came to understand the struggles that Park Na Rae faced and decided to give her the time and space she needed.
Jun Hyun Moo: At first, it hurt. A lot. You never told me anything. But still, I could understand. You had your priorities.
Park Na Rae (In Studio): See, he and I have a lot of things in common. But back then, for obvious reasons, I felt like I should not be friends with him. Like, I would always want Jang Woo there, too.
Jun Hyun Moo (In Studio): And I knew she felt this way, so I left her alone.
Park Na Rae: I’ve always felt bad about it, though. It was just hard to talk to you about it.
Jun Hyun Moo: Right, but you didn’t even have to talk to me about it. I already knew. Our friendship is strong enough now that I completely understand even without you explaining anything to me. I get how you must have felt, and it’s fair. So, at one point, I stopped feeling upset about it. It didn’t hurt me anymore. Time healed us.
Now, Park Na Rae and Jun Hyun Moo are like family—all the while Park remains close to Han Hye Jin, too. Viewers are celebrating the unpacked drama and how the three chose to continue building their friendships as mature adults!
