TWICE's Nayeon Gets Emotional Upon Reconnecting With The Woman Who Practically Raised Her

TWICE‘s Nayeon was the first guest on 1MILLION Dance Studio‘s new talk show, “Liality Show,” hosted by choreographer Lia Kim.

Besides being the face of the dance crew, Lia was also a trainer for idols such as Nayeon before they debuted. She saw first-hand how “emotional” the latter was upon thinking back on their time together.

Nayeon revealed that she sees Lia Kim as her “one and only teacher.”

You were my one and only teacher.

No matter who taught her afterwards, she learned the most from Lia Kim.

Of course, I got lessons from the other teachers. But I think it was because of the timing. I met her when I was focusing on my skills.

Though it wasn’t easy to learn from the dance instructor, Nayeon continued to approach her whenever she had a hard time.

I wanted to focus on practicing and she was the first person I went to.

Thus, Lia Kim is more than a teacher to Nayeon—she’s someone who raised her.

She basically raised me. I also get emotional when I see her.

Nayeon wasn’t the only one who almost cried because of their reunion. Lia Kim also had to hold back her tears upon seeing her former student, now a successful singer, in the flesh.

Honestly, I almost cried when you came in this room. But I held it back. I wanted to keep things light and fun today. But I got so teary when I saw [your] face.
