(G)I-DLE’s Minnie Shocks JYJ’s Jaejoong With Revelation Of Her Extremely Wealthy Background

On the 43rd episode of “Jae Friends,” JYJ‘s Jaejoong interviewed (G)I-DLE‘s Minnie. They discussed a variety of topics ranging from her friendship with BLACKPINK‘s Lisa to her complaints in the workplace.

The show also delved deeper into her Thai background. At one point, Jaejoong asked about her living situation and was shocked to find out she was from a rich family.

Though Minnie tried to downplay her financial situation, the senior idol saw right through her after the staff showed clips of her vlog at home in Thailand.

Jaejoong: You have a house in Thailand, right?

Minnie: No, I live with my mom and dad.

Jaejoong: It’s just your parent’s house? What is this? You’re really rich.

Jaejoong grew increasingly shocked with each scene, remarking that she lives in an “amazing” house.

Minnie: No [I’m not rich]. The house is really old.

Jaejoong: The Blue House is old and the White House is old, too. But they are amazing places.

The fact that she also has a home gym added to his surprise.

To drive a nail into the coffin, a picture of a luxurious pool was revealed to belong Minnie’s grandparents who own a resort in Kanchanaburi, west Thailand.

Minnie’s wealthy background has been revealed in the past. According to Mnet’s TMI News, her father worked as a senior officer at the large Siam Commercial Bank and is now the president of the Bangkok branch of the YMCA organization. Her aunt, Pawongduen “Sugar” Yontararak, is even the great granddaughter of the last king of Lanna, a kingdom in northern Thailand.
