Recently, JTBC‘s new romantic-comedy K-Drama My Sweet Mobster (also known as Woman Who Plays With), based on web novel Playful Woman, concluded. Um Tae Goo (also romanized as Uhm Tae Goo) starred as Seo Ji Hwan, a mobster-turned-CEO who hires ex-convicts to work at his company. He was the stoic, no-nonsense type until he met Go Eun Ha (played by former Secret member Han Sun Hwa, also known as Sunhwa), a kids’ content creator.
Seo Ji-Hwan (Um Tae-Goo) is a former gangster. He quit that life and is now the CEO of a company. He tries to disband gangs and hires gang members, who were released from prison, to help them improve their lives.
Go Eun-Ha (Han Sun-Hwa) runs her own YouTube channel, which is for kids. She is known as Mini Sister. She wants to convey love and happiness to her audience, based on her own childhood memory of a boy in her neighborhood who played with her. The boy was older than her, but he was the only person who played with her. Her YouTube channel isn’t very popular. One day, when she is doing cleaning work as a part-time job, she somehow accidentally hurts Seo Ji-Hwan. She freaks out, but Seo Ji-Hwan seems to know her.

Um Tae Goo recently appeared on Yoo Jae Suk and Jo Se Ho‘s variety show You Quiz on the Block to promote the K-Drama. Three years prior, they tried to invite him, but he turned down the invitation because he was so nervous.

Throughout the interview, Um Tae Goo was visibly anxious. He is an extreme introvert, although he is an actor. Yet, he has a hidden technique that helps him get through working with others.

During the episode, Um Tae Goo was asked about his poor eyesight. He jokingly explained that he usually wears glasses, but when it comes to filming, he removes his glasses so he can’t see anything.

Many netizens were empathetic. Fellow introverts confessed they don’t wear their glasses to avoid seeing people.
