A past investigation of HYBE America COO and righthand man to HYBE America CEO Scooter Braun, David Bolno, has resurfaced.

Recently, netizens have resurfaced a past scandal that Bolno was mentioned in. According to their posts, he was allegedly under investigation after an aspiring singer in her 20s died in his $2,600 USD hotel room.

In 2023, in a Daily Mail exclusive, it was reported that the music advisor, who was married, had been trying to help an aspiring musician, but she was found dead. In some reports, she is identified as 34-year-old Laura Lozano, and in others, she is recognized as 24-year-old Camila Sterling.

The hotel’s surveillance footage revealed Bolno left his ocean-view one-bedroom suite in Miami’s deluxe Setai Hotel on March 30, Miami Beach, at 4:30 AM. Sometime after he left, the woman reportedly ordered room service. Around 1 PM, hotel staff found her unresponsive in Bolno’s hotel room’s bathtub after the front desk couldn’t reach anyone after a missed checkout.

So the hotel called Bolno nine hours later asking him to check out of room 2805, the one-bedroom suite with an ocean view, according to city police. ‘He stated he had already checked out and needed the female in his room out of his room,’ an incident report states.

Security guards went to check on the room and found Lozano ‘supine’ in the bathtub. They attempted CPR and called for help, but first responders declared Lozano dead around 1:22 p.m.

The police report included that an unknown substance, not believed to be a prescription drug, was found in several locations around the hotel room. In July 2023, Daily Mail reported that the woman had “binged on a deadly cocktail of drugs – including trendy ‘pink cocaine.'”

Camila Sterling, 24, was found dead in the fetal position in a bathtub with a baggy containing a ‘pink powdery substance’ sat on a nearby coffee table on March 30.

In an initial police report, Miami Beach police officers had named Bolno as a “person of interest” in the investigation of the woman’s death. Later, he was cleared, with the Miami police stating that he’s not a person of interest in the case.

‘There is an open death investigation pending the toxicology report from the Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the official cause of death,’ Miami Beach police spokesman Ernesto Rodriguez said. ‘Mr. Bolno has cooperated with our investigation and is not a person of interest.’

Bolno spoke to the Daily Mail, referring to the woman’s death as a “terrible tragedy,” as he had been planning to sign the aspiring musician. He explained their relationship, “She’s a client and she was going to sign a record deal with me. I helped her make music.” They had been recording music there in the hotel room that night. He added, “I really don’t want to go too deeply into it, honestly it was a terrible tragedy.”

It was a terrible tragedy. I had vacated the room in the earlier part of the morning so I wasn’t there when they found her. It was really sad, she was someone I really liked, and she was a good person.

Bolno was asked early in the investigation why he had left his hotel at such an odd time. He claimed it was because he had decided to “let her stay there,” defending himself with “there’s not much more to it.” Apparently, he had “to catch a flight home to his wife and two kids in Los Angeles.” He declared, “I wasn’t there when she died,” as she “was found much later in the day.”

Still, netizens find this case suspicious, especially seeing how quickly it got dealt with. What’s most questionable is why different ages and names are used when identifying the deceased in various reports on the case.

Netizens have long been concerned with who HYBE founder and chairman Bang Si Hyuk (also known as Bang PD or Hitman Bang) is surrounding himself with, especially as Scooter Braun is known to be problematic. Bolno’s past investigation has resurfaced due to Bang Si Hyuk’s own scandal, as he was spotted with two young women walking the streets of Los Angeles, later revealed to be BJs on AfreecaTV, a streaming platform. The photos were quickly removed from Korean platforms. Read more below.
