Former CIX Bae Jinyoung’s Statements About His Past Earn Mixed Reactions, Leading To An Apology

On August 4, it was announced that Bae Jinyoung would leave CIX and C9 Entertainment after his exclusive contract ended.

Since then, he has been preparing for his solo activities, including setting up his own solo Instagram account.  He has also remained in contact with fans, often sending messages on the fan chatting platform fromm.

Recently, some of these messages earned mixed reactions from fans.

On August 13, Jinyoung sent multiple messages on fromm about his activities, promising good news for fans soon. During one part of the messages, he mentions that those around him have said he should think about his choices carefully and that he has “wasted enough” time already.

• People around me keep telling me to take my time and think it over.
• But why can’t I do that? ㅠㅠ
• Hahaha
• Time is gold, seriously…
• I’ve wasted so much gold (time) already…

Many saw his messages as an indication of his eagerness to begin working and that he was referring to the time that had elapsed since he departed from the group. Many also believed he was speaking about C9’s alleged mismanagement.

However, others had a different interpretation of his messages.

Some fans believed he was referring to his time with CIX as what was a waste, and criticized the idol.

• Jinyoung, you filmed the dance video for the last song you did with the group like this. You didn’t even communicate during group activities, so can you really talk about how time is precious and that you’ve wasted a lot of money? You’re not 18 anymore; you’re 25. Act your age.

Following the onslaught of criticism, Jinyoung sent messages to address the criticism and apologize, saying that his words were misunderstood.

• Everyone!
• First, I sincerely apologize to those who were hurt by my clumsy words and actions.
• Although things have been greatly misinterpreted and misunderstood, which is quite shocking,
• I will be more careful with my words and actions in the future!
• I’m sorry!
• Regardless of the reason, if someone was hurt, it’s my fault, and it’s only right for me to apologize!
• It’s my mistake for causing any misunderstandings!
• I’m sorry.

The idol also addressed haters in a message, re-stating that his words were misunderstood and that he was not addressing people who did not like him or who attempted to twist his words.

This apology is not directed at those who disliked me or saw me in a negative light from the beginning, but rather to those who have genuinely supported me. I’m apologizing because I’m concerned that some of you might have seen the misinterpreted posts and could be hurt or misunderstand. I’m always so grateful to those who have continuously supported me, and I’m sorry for causing you any worry. I’ll be more careful from now on.
