Bang Si Hyuk Earns Over A Million Dollars Per Month During 2024 First Half

Bang Si HyukHYBE‘s founder and chairman, reportedly earned nearly ₩10.0 billion KRW (about $7.41 million USD) in the first half of 2024!

Bang earned a total of ₩9.80 billion KRW (about $7.26 million USD) as his semi-annual compensation. On August 15, KST, HYBE published its financial report, in which its founder’s base salary was set at 0 KRW, and his entire earnings were listed as a performance bonus. According to HYBE, not providing Bang with a base salary was in compliance with their “Pay for Performance” policy.

The bonus awarded to Bang Si Hyuk was decided upon by a Compensation Committee, which led to an all-encompassing evaluation of Bang Si Hyuk’s performance and contributions to HYBE in 2023. The board approved the amount in 2024. In its financial report, HYBE noted that Bang Si Hyuk’s successful strategies to advance key projects of the company, enhance its brand value, and lead it through dynamic changes made him eligible for handsome compensation.

Meanwhile, in the second quarter of 2024, HYBE recorded its highest quarterly revenue ever, posting ₩641 billion KRW (about $474 million USD) in sales. At the semi-annual level, the total revenue recorded by HYBE amounted to ₩1.00 trillion KRW (about $741 million USD). However, controversy erupted after HYBE reportedly omitted Bang’s luxury mansion in Los Angeles in its financial reports, even though he had bought the place under his company’s name.
