HYBE has responded to the disgusting threats made earlier today towards NewJeans.
Earlier today, a netizen made a post on DC Inside threatening explicit and vulgar actions towards the NewJeans members.
While media outlet SportsWorld blurred out the vulgar words, Google searches cached the post, even though it was deleted. The contents of the post are as follows:
Title: I’m going to r*pe NewJeans.
Body: Starting from today, my goal is to r*pe the 5 members of NewJeans.
First, I looked into their dorm.

While the post was taken down shortly after, it was reported to HYBE, who have responded to the post.
We are looking into it. However, we are regularly looking into [potential] lawsuits and charges.

Even if posts such as these are made as a joke, these posts can be punished as threats. The punishment for making threats like this is up to 10 years in prison or a fine of up to ₩10.0 million KRW (about $7,510 USD), depending on the severity of the threat made.
