On August 24, KST, users on Korean online communities came across photos of a large group poster of 3Y covered with paint. The poster was placed on one of the exterior windows of the 3Y Corporation office in Gangnam, Seoul. The pictures showed red paint smeared across the faces of the members and the word “Fake” graffitied over the poster. This incident occurred just a day after the group announced its comeback.

The timing of the incident has left many suspicious that the images could be a prank or a publicity stunt. However, many are also concerned that it could be the actions of anti-fans. Tamago Production has said that they are investigating the circumstances of the incident. The agency will release an official statement after the situation is clarified.

  • “They’re ‘investigating’ LOL.”
  • “It seems like they stuck on a printout.”
  • “I’m sick of this kind of marketing.”
  • “Did they have a grudge against the blank space? Avoided the faces but slathered paint all over the blank area.”
  • “Even if they wanted to go for the concept of an idol who gets criticized, the agency shouldn’t have done that.”

QWER, consisting of members Chodan, Magenta, Hina, and Siyeon, is gearing up for a September comeback.

Meanwhile, the group’s management recently put out a statement announcing strong legal action against malicious slander. Read more about it here.
